Super Junior (Korean: 슈퍼주니어), also known as simply SJ or SuJu, is a thirteen member Kpop boy band formed by SM Entertainment in 2005. The group initially debuted with twelve members on November 6, 2005 with the single, "TWINS (Knock Out)". The original twelve members, from oldest to youngest, are Leeteuk (the leader), Heechul, Han Geng, Yesung, Kang-In, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, and Kibum. On May 23, 2006 SM Entertainment announced the addition of a new member, Kyuhyun, making them the thirteen member group they are today.

Many of the members had already pursued an entertainment career before Super Junior's debut through acting, DJ-ing, and modeling. Most members have been actors, MCs, models, or DJs prior to debut. Heechul, Siwon, and Kibum made their debuts in dramas and films. Leeteuk, Yesung, Kang-In, Shindong, Sungmin, and Eunhyuk made cameo television appearances and became active DJs or MCs after debut. Hangeng made his first media appearance as a model.

Super Junior China

Super Junior China was renamed Super Junior M, standing for Mandarin. I suppose that any attempt at other Chinese dialects are out of the question? They will release an album called 迷 (fans?). And they will appear on 非常大明星 on April 10th.

I suppose the line up is still the same, and what I’m thinking right now is…what about Kibum?

Furthermore…

Henry attended SM’s talk with MIT students along with Donghae and Siwon. Fun.

Heechul will be getting rhinoplasty because of his recent laser surgery induced fall. Hmm…

Super Junior will also have their first fan meeting in Japan sometime in July.

Sushi AeNO AsaKusa

Andy would call it a ‘Tuna Bomb’ as it was purely different types of Tuna. I ate it sitting around the table where the chefs make the Sushi and also where the fish tank was. I felt the fish in the tank give me very strange looks as I swallowed their cousins (all except the dead one floating upside down). I think I broke every Sushi eating rule whilst in there (like not dipping the rice into the soy and biting into a piece and then not eating all of it). I was too busy wondering if ‘elbows on the table’ was also looked at with dismay.

This morning I went to the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno to check out some Japanese ceramics, Buddhist sculpture, samurai armour and swords. It was pretty good, lots of things to see, there’s 5 different buildings each with different things in, this is a picture of the main building (Honkan) that is devoted to Japanese art -
I took my brand new camera but then realised I had left the battery for it at home!! DOH!!!! So I went back to get it and headed for Asakusa to go and checkout the Sensoji Temple. I went a bit camera crazy here, so here are some highlights. This is the road that leads up to the Sensoji Temple, can you spot the guy with the face mask? -

The pinkish-white colour domination which so reminded me of Twelve + one, with the adorable ornament, everything was perfect, until i spotted the name Breadtalk on one of the cake box.
Boy, the coup de grâce was performed when i then noticed the Chinese name, Dan gao si yu, which was so Breadtalk (mian bao wu yu), and a branch of Breadtalk and toastbox just beside it. Now don’t get me wrong, I have totally nothing against Breadtalk. It’s just that i wasn’t expecting Breadtalk to behind the icing room concept.
When i thought the stagnant Breadtalk is down and out, they managed to turn the table around and pulled a rabbit from the hat. Voila! You’ve to give credit to Mr. George Quek and his team for coming out with this, although the icing room has yet to prove itself, they managed to capture me on the first impression, and that’s all it mattered.
The idea which i always had in mind, a place to do-it-yourself cakes. This, is one very good idea. The crowd surrounding the store gave a very good indicator, for just $11.90, they provided you with a small cream cake, and you get the pleasure to decorate your very own cake on the spot. Its that simple, no need to buy ingredients, no need to get your hands dirty, and no need to wash up.Like what the chef there mentioned, “It’s like fulfilling a child’s dream”. I’ll like to add something to that, i bet adults would also love to play with the cake, a very nice gift for your loved ones.

boards for Bread Talk

When I interview her, we are sitting in front of the café’s display case. She points at the flimsy metallized boards which the cakes unceremoniously sit on. The boards are wrinkled and are beginning to curl up, like an over-the-hill cabaret dancer about to lift her flouncy skirt one last time. “A big selling point of companies now is the presentability of their products,” she begins, speaking almost pensively. “And when your packaging looks like that, you might not necessarily order that cake because of the condition of the cake board.” She shrugs. “But then again, it could be subliminal.” I look at the boards (and the cakes!) with new eyes and nod my head slowly. She has a point there. The cakes are beautiful, but the boards they stand on could use some work.

Breakfast @ Starbucks

Recently, Starbucks Malaysia introduces Breakfast, which is already popular in many other countries especially in the States. Unlike the States, Breakfast in Malaysia has only three options — “Tomato, Basil & Cheese”, “Sausage, Egg & Cheese”, and “Mushroom, Tomato & Cheese”, all served warm on toasted Ciabatta bread.

Moments after picking up a venti vanilla latte from a St. Petersburg Starbucks, Sam Maston removed his cup's cardboard sleeve to inspect a message printed beneath.

"America's national debt is now $7.5-trillion, and it's skyrocketing, even as America's population ages," the cup read. "There will never be a better time to start paying off this crippling debt than today."

The quote, from environmentalist Denis Hayes, didn't faze the 29-year-old Maston.

"I'm a pretty hardcore Democrat," said Maston, who wore a black rubber wristband bearing the words I DID NOT VOTE 4 BUSH. "I think they should put that stuff on there."

Not everyone agrees.

The Seattle coffee chain has raised some eyebrows over its "The Way I See It" campaign, which prints quotes from thinkers, authors, athletes and entertainers on the side of your morning machiatto. The goal, according to the company, is to foster philosophical debate in its 9,000-plus coffeehouses.

The quotes aren't all that inflammatory, though several mirror Starbucks' hallmark tall-grande-venti pretentiousness. Take this one from film critic Roger Ebert: "A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it."

The problem, critics say, is the company's list of overwhelmingly liberal contributors, including Al Franken, Melissa Etheridge, Quincy Jones, Chuck D. Of the 31 contributors listed on Starbucks' Web site, only one, National Review editor Jonah Goldberg, offers a conservative viewpoint.

Considering Starbucks sells millions of cups of coffee each day - some specialty drinks at $4 and up - it's no surprise some customers have complained to Starbucks' Web site, labeling the campaign "offensive" and the company a proponent of "the destruction of family values and virtues."

"I want to enjoy your product without having Earth Day Network propaganda thrust at me," wrote Malachi Salcido of East Wenatchee, Wash.

Yvette Nunez, a 27-year-old Republican from Tampa, said she hadn't noticed the quotes on her weekly caramel machiattos. On "tall" cups, the text is obscured by a cardboard sleeve.

"There are a lot of great conservative quotes, but oh well," she said. "I'm not surprised. I'm used to being under-represented."

coffee...there's nothing quite like it is there?

As I was sipping my coffee at the Starbucks around the corner...I realized...there is something about Starbucks that makes you feel, well...good.

No, more than good.
Great.

The atmosphere at a Starbucks makes you feel quite luxurious. The decor is subtly soothing, and for some reason you feel like nothing else really matters right now, because I've got my coffee.

Ok I know this sounds strange. But think about it...why can't people start their morning off without their coffee? Caffine. Caffine gives you energy. When we feel energetic, we feel like we can do anything. And come on..doesn't it make you feel great knowing that you can order any crazy drink that you want? You can get a venti non fat half caff no foam tripple shot cafe mocha with whipped cream? And they dont even batt an eyelash!

I don't know about you, but that screams 'power' to me.

And to me, I feel like this kind of an attitude is a great way to start your day. What's better than feeling like you can conquer the world first thing in the morning? And all from a little cup of steamy goodness.

Starbucks is now offering a new service for their hordes of over-caffeinated followers in North America. Using your cellphone or other mobile device you can send a text message with your zip code to "MYSBUX" and you'll received back the address and phone number of your three nearest Starbucks.

If that wasn't enough, they've also created a specially formatted locator to fit on the small screens of web enabled devices like Treos and Blackberries. The store locator link on their website will reformat automatically for your screen and show you nearest stores, closest WiFi stores, maps, directions, etc. This service is also linked to in-car GPS navigation systems.

Starbucks is promoting this new service by offering a free cup of mediocre coffee to all customers in US stores between 10 am and noon on March 15th.

he islanders in the bars are cool - They look like a cross between Jamaican rastas and captain Jack sparrow - corrals and animal bones adorn the wooden bars which are only meters from the sea.

As you walk along the shore in the evening with BBQs blazing and fairy lights hanging from the branches of trees your ears are greeted (and very often offended) by music ranging from on-hold muzak to Thai rock - It’s all so unfinished, trying to find its way as a resort without a long history - you can feel it as you pass the different smells, sounds and sights which aren’t yet fixed and hence have had no chance to become stale. The place is like the hermit crabs we watched scuttling on sunset beach, the tiny ones in shells smaller than garden peas, not yet big enough for that beautiful conch mansion but trying on new outfits along their sideways paths nonetheless.

A few long tail boats chug across the otherwise perfect quiet of the day. With a book in hand your only worry is, “Am I hungry?, thirsty?” - “Think I might lie in the water” - “Oh I just dropped off”

We took a jungle walk to sunset beach on the other side of the island which was even more remote than Pataya (There’s Sandra with the pool to herself)
